The following Java security exception error might occur when you attempt to display a Java based graph after upgrading to Java JRE 1.7 Update 51 or later:

SecurityException: Missing required permissions manifest attribute in main jar.

This error occurs due to extra security measures that were added to Java JRE 1.7 starting with Update 51.

This problem occurs when you create graphics output using traditional SAS/GRAPH^® procedures, such as GPLOT, GCHART, and GTILE, with the JAVA device driver. The problem also occurs with Java based macros such as DS2CONST and DS2TREE.

To circumvent the problem, open your Microsoft Windows Control Panel and double-click Java. In the Java Control Panel window, select the Security tab. In this window, move the slider bar down to the bottom, setting it to medium. Click Apply and then OK.
